Automount
From MEPIS Documentation Wiki
To automount a directory with files means to make it available with help of some backgroung mechanism, either by just trying to use certain filename or by mounting explicitly, but without specifying all the details.
There are several types of automount:
- Automount drives using details from /etc/fstab
- automount remote NFS directories using autofs
- automount automatics in konqueror and other KDE programs (see e.g. Mounting flash devices or Using SAMBA)
In MEPIS, even part of /etc/fstab is automatically generated.
For automatic access to image files in your camera, see also Camera Help.
