Chrome

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.
- Use Synaptic to install the package xdg-utils. Close Synaptic.
- Download the deb package for your system by clinking the appropriate link below:
- Dev channel (for 32-bit systems): google-chrome-unstable_current_i386.deb
- Dev channel (for 64-bit systems): google-chrome-unstable_current_amd64.deb
- Use KPackage to install the deb file. See Installing Software for more details if needed.
- Close KPackage
- (optional) Delete the downloaded deb file
Note: Installing Google Chrome will add the Google repository so your system will automatically keep Chrome up to date. If you don't want Google's repository, before installing the package, run (as root):
touch /etc/default/google-chrome
Certain non-compliant webpages (e.g. MepisLovers and wiki pages powered by MediaWiki) will not display correctly.
