If not specified otherwise, the info in this Wiki pertains to latest SimplyMEPIS, 32 bit.

Which version do I have installed?
The following commands entered in the konsole will give some information about the kernel and MEPIS version installed:
uname -r
cat /proc/version
cat /etc/*release
Ultimately, the repositories that you use to upgrade your system can tell you what version you use, run:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list
and check what's the name of the MEPIS repository.

On your CD-ROM, open the text file named "version"
Download MEPIS or Purchase the LiveCD or LiveDVD
