Identifying the chipset of your network card

To identify the chipset of your network card:

  • Open a command line
  • Type: lspci -v
  • Look for the name in the entry "Network controller", for instance: 
    0000:02:01.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g
