Launch a program as root

To launch a program as root in KDE:

  1. Right-click on the desktop
  2. Choose "Run Command"
  3. Type: "kdesu" followed by the name of the program
  4. Type in root password when prompted

(you can also edit KMenu entries and add "kdesu" in front of the programs you need to run as root)

Another way:

  1. Right-click on the desktop
  2. Choose "Run Command" and enter the program name
  3. Click "Options"
  4. Select "Run as a different user"
  5. Type in "root" for username if necessary, and enter the password
  6. Click "Run"
