Listing your hardware configuration

• One place to get information about your hardware is Kinfocenter, type kinfocenter in Run Command or Konsole, or go to K Menu -> System -> Info Center
• You can get better information with two programs that come pre-installed with MEPIS 6.5 (use Synaptic to download and install in other versions):
  • lshw (as root), see this page for details.
    • There is a GUI available as well, download and install lshw-gtk
  • hwinfo (as root) - man page
• You can direct the output of either of these tools as an html file, for instance
