Root

Has two meanings:

  1. Related to user accounts: Root is the Linux/UNIX term for "administrator account".
  2. Related to file systems: Root is the name of the base level of a document hierarchy which is also noted with "/" sign. There is also a /root directory that represents the "home directory" for root/adminstrator user.
