Applications

  • Shred (installed by default) Shred overwrites the specified FILE(s) repeatedly, to prevent data recovery.-- directions here

Procedures

  • You can not erase a drive that is mounted, so usually you will be using an external medium
  • Be very careful to identify the correct drive before starting
