- It installs/upgrades from Etch by default -- you need to uncomment the Debian sources in /etc/apt/sources.list
Because of MEPIS commitment to remain stable and as compatible with Debian as possible, it will upgrade to KDE 3.5 probably only after Debian makes KDE 3.5 available in Etch.

- It installs/upgrades from Sid -- you need to uncomment the Debian sources in /etc/apt/sources.list
Because of MEPIS commitment to remain as Debian compatible as possible, it will switch to X.org, OpenOffice 2.0, and KDE 3.4, only when Debian releases those packages.
