A problem, with the alsa driver on an Intel 945 mobo, was reported by Kenny at Blake Computers in Luray, VA.

So I updated the alsa module for the 2.6.12 kernel to version 1.0.10-3 and uploaded it to the MEPIS pool.

Firefox 1.5 final is now available in the MEPIS pool. You can use Synaptic Package Manager to easily upgrade Firefox. The final release contains a few bug fixes that should solve most of the problems associated with previous versions.

The supplementary components for the 2.6.12 kernel, such as downstream source and kernel headers, are now available for download in the MEPIS pool.

An updated version of the HP Linux Printing and Imaging System is now available in the MEPIS pool. If you have a newer HP printer and have had problems, upgrade the hplip package and any related components.

mepis-oscenter, meauto and meauto-data have been updated to include support for the Traveller Disc. This will give current MEPIS users the ability to create and use the Traveller Disc from their installation of SimplyMEPIS.

Since we released a deb of Acrobat Reader 7.0, there has been a lot of FUD.

The fact is:
1. Debian has not released a deb package of Acrobat Reader, probably because it's a non-free (as in code) application.

acroread (Acrobat Reader 7.0) has been added to the MEPIS 3.3 pool. This version is tweaked to work with the MEPIS KDE menu structure.

meauto and meauto-data have been updated. You may benefit from this update if you have experienced problems with your sound card.

mepis-oscenter has been added to the MEPIS 3.3 pool. This is an updated version of the oscenter that provides compatibility with the recent relocation of the ifstate file in Debian.

You need this update if you have recently upgraded 3.3 from the Debian pool and you need to use the Network Interfaces section of the MEPIS OS Center.

The MEPIS 3.3 Pool has been updated to resynchronize ndiswrapper-modules for 2.6.10 and 2.6.11.6 with ndiswrapper-utils 1.1-4 in the Debian pool.

The MEPIS 3.3 Pool has been updated to include the experimental MEPIS 2.6.11.6. smp kernel (announced seperately).

Thanks to recent user input, the meauto and meauto-data packages have been updated to be more complete and to include support for more sound cards/chips.
