Connecting directly to ADSL but cannot connect through router

First thing, my DSL doesn't have a modem... it's a fiber/LAN connection from the telephone company working through an ethernet outlet. I've connected through that connection from the wall to my computer with no problem. Yesterday it even connected through my router (Netgear wireless w/ethernet) with no problem once I'd set up the DSL access. When I booted today I had no connection. I am now connected directly to my DSL outlet, but can't get anything through my router.

A puzzling thing as well is that when I go into the OS center to edit the interface, it shows eth0 as "not running" even while connected to the internet.

I'm completely new to Linux though I'm a pretty quick study. Any help getting this thing configured for my network would be awesome!
