Descriptions of Office Applications

Acrobat Reader: Adobe Reader for Linux is an application that reads PDF files.

Checkbook Tracker: Program that allows you to record and balance checkbook transactions.

Karbon14:  A vector-based drawing application that is part of KOffice. It enables you to create complex drawings that do not lose image quality when the image is resized.

KFormula: A formula editor for KOffice that is used to create and edit mathematical formulas that can be included in KOffice documents.

Kivio: An application for creating flowcharts and diagrams.

KNotes: A program that lets you write sticky notes, which are saved automatically when you exit the program and display when you open the program. Also allows you to print or mail your notes.

Kontact: Personal information manager combines KMail, KOrganizer and KAddressBook into one interface which makes it easy to access mail, scheduling, address book, and other functions.

KOrganizer: A personal organizer, calendar and scheduling program. Supports information interchange with other calendar applications through vCalendar file format.

KSpread: A powerful spreadsheet application.

KPresenter: A program for creating multimedia presentations.

KWord: A frame-based word processor.

KThesaurus: A Thesaurus program.

Kugar: Tool for creating business quality reports that can be viewed or printed.

Scribus: A desktop page layout program that can be used for creating brochures, newspapers, magazines, newsletters and posters. It has page layout features including precision placing and rotating of text and/or images on a page. When running in KDE, a Drag and Drop feature is enabled.
