any suggestions for wireless pc card for mepis lite??

I been trying every wireless notebook pc card I can beg or borrow (or buy and return) suggested in the forum but can't get any to work with mepis lite.

If anyone can suggest cards which have a high likelyhood of success I would appreciate it.

MepisLite wireless

Take this view:

Most cards will work in Linux -- it doesn't matter that you are using Mepis Lite.

Let me know which card you want to get working and I'll help

or -- look at this list http://linux-wless.passys.nl/ and pick one that's shown in green (that means it works well in Linux) -- personally I would avoid Realtek chipsets -- but many times Realtek works well.

I am using MepisLite on an older PC (Pentium 3 450 MHz, 320MB Ram) -- I have a Netgear wireless card -- I don't remember which one, and I don't want to recommend this one as I have had problems getting encryption to work.

Thanks Mike for your

Thanks Mike for your reply.

But I'm really a newbie when it comes to Mepis. In reading your replies to the many other members who you have helped get their wireless cards to work,I realized don't know enough Linux to even follow the suggestions

I do get the sense that some wireless cards are nearly plug and play while others require a great deal of work.

I was hoping to find a card that the installation was as automatic as possible under Mepislite, kernel 2.4
