You're right.
9 times out of 10, poeple find the answer to a question like this after they've posted the question; however, in this case, there was a legitimate issue that came to light not long afterwards.

Screensaver works just fine, although I wish it didn't becase I hate such unnecessary things.

It was easy enough to disable, though.
