Screen Resolution problem

I tried out Mepis 6 rc 3 two days ago. However, the 1440 x 900 Hsync and Vsync are not compatible with that resolution, meaning that when I run the live disk, it goes black. My screen (Viewsonic VA1912w) then displays the message indicating the problem.

Solution?

You tried hitting the F3 key

You tried hitting the F3 key when the Grub boot screen appears - dunno if your res is there...

You could just use 1280 x 1024 - install then set up your resolution exactly by using the method outlined here:
