bouncing icons

is there any way to get rid of the bouncing icon when I click on an application? Maybe replace it with the windows hourglass? Windows has that right anyway.

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work.
I went to:
system settings
appearance (no 'themes' available; no 'launch feedback' available)
icons
advanced
desktop file manager
unclicked 'animate icons'.
clicked apply
checked other categories under advanced to make sure no more 'animate icons' were checked. none were.
terminated session and logged back in.
the bouncing is still there.

I like the normal kcontrol interface.
Go to the K Menu and choose Run Command. Type:
kcontrol
and then go to Look-n-Feel/Launch Feedback. That should do it. I am going from PCLinuxOS, however, but it should be in the same spot. Kcontrol is kcontrol is kcontrol. A lot of the newer distros want to make such things "easier" to accomplish, and I think they're just getting in the way.

Thank you. That did the trick. I can stop feeling seasick now
whenever something takes a while to open.
