Samsung Multi Function Devices

Has anyone out there setup a Samsung Multi Function (Printer-scanner-copier) on Mepis 6.0? Mine is a cheapy SCX-4016 that worked well in Windows but can't seem to get it to work in Linux. Can get the printer to work with the new Samsung unified driver (Posted on Samsung site this July) but the scanner portion doesn't exist on the system. Lots of info installing "Printer drivers" on different Linux forums but can't seem to find much on multifunction devices. Help would be appreciated as I'm new to Linux systems and want to switch to it from Windurs but device setup is kind of a hinderence. Thanks in advance.
