Change application font size in firefox, thunderbird, easytag....

In some applications like firefox, thunderbird and easytag the fonts do not respond to the kde control center. If you install gnome-control-center using synaptic these font sizes can be changed. However on restarting your computer the changes are lost. This means a symbolic link between the settings and kde autostart is required. So in a terminal type

lxuser@1[~]$ gnome-font-properties

Setup font sizes then

lxuser@1[~]$ ln -s /usr/lib/control-center/gnome-settings-daemon ~/.kde/Autostart/

The above works for 6.0, any problems would revolve around the symlink paths which can be resolved using the find function.
This method has been used in Suse for awhile.

Do you know about

Do you know about gtk2-engines-gtk-qt, and if you do why do you prefer this method?

I read a little about

I read a little about it....checked in synaptic and it was installed, looked for a module in system configuration, could'nt find one. Tried to run gtk2-engines-gtk-qt, could'nt.
I don't know how to use it. Can you help?

I have not got a module
(control center\appeareance & themes\GTK styles & fonts)

???

I have not got a module

Do to the size of the Install CD, Warren has to be very carefull about the software he adds and I like KDE so using Synaptic I install the full "KDE" package and belive me things work alot better after that. Eye-wink

Wow that's odd, I figured it

That's odd, I figured it would be the same as in 3.4.
But now I see that gtk2-engines-gtk-qt is installed by default and on top of it it does not make an entry "GTK styles & fonts".
To tell you the truth, I don't know whats going on or how to get that entry.
Maybe a simple reinstall would do it or otherwise what bad dog suggested.
