Kuickshow for GreyGeek...

...or anyone else (like me) who can't seem to live without Kuickshow...
This is a follow-up to the Kuickshow discussion that got started over in http://www.mepis.org/node/10680
Installing the modified kuickshow package (from: http://www.gabston-howell.org/linux/kuickshow/kuickshow_3.5.3-1_i386.deb ) went exactly like this (minus the end of line weirdness, of course):
root@example.host[kuickshow.experiment]# dpkg -i kuickshow_3.5.3-1_i386.deb
Selecting previously deselected package kuickshow.
(Reading database ... 101398 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking kuickshow (from kuickshow_3.5.3-1_i386.deb) ...
Setting up kuickshow (3.5.3-1) ...

root@example.host[kuickshow.experiment]#
Both Kpackage and Synaptic start and install packages from the repos without throwing 'exclusive lock' or 'broken package' errors. Of course, dpkg seems to be quite happy with the kludge.

Kuickshow also likes where it's living on this laptop. This is one that I'll add to my "post-install" flash drive, and make it a routine addition to all of the machines I'm installing SM 6.0-Final on (mainly the kids' machines).
Just so anyone interested knows exactly what was done:
The original kuickshow '.deb' contains a text file called "control"; which specifies, among other things, the package dependencies:
Package: kuickshow
Version: 4:3.5.3-1
Section: graphics
Priority: optional
Architecture: i386
Depends: imlib11, kdelibs4c2a (>= 4:3.5.3-1), libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.0), libice6, libjpeg62, libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.8rel), libsm6, libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.0), libtiff4, libungif4g (>= 4.1.3), libx11-6, libxext6, zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.1)
Suggests: khelpcenter
Installed-Size: 804
Maintainer: Debian Qt/KDE Maintainers
Source: kdegraphics
Description: KDE image/slideshow viewer
KuickShow is an image browser/viewer with a nice filebrowser to select
images to be shown, slideshow support and the ability to display the
following image formats: jpg, gif, tiff, png, bmp, psd, xpm, xbm, pbm
and eim. Images can be displayed either in their own window, as large
as the image, or fullscreen (which shrinks images too large to
display). KuickShow also has a slideshow mode.

This package is part of KDE, as a component of the KDE graphics module.
See the 'kde' and 'kdegraphics' packages for more information.

I minimally modified the dependency info in the original control file, as follows:

At any rate, nothing else in the kuickshow '.deb' was touched at all; it works as expected, and does not appear to break anything on the system.
Thanks, EnigmaOne, that worked perfectly!
