I want to share this:
If you want write NTFS partitions then forget about captive-ntfs and try ntfs-3g
ntfs-3g works ok with last Simply Mepis 6.0 installed on HD
A good how-to is in this Ubuntu forum (download and install a few *.deb packages and no much more)

SimplyMEPIS 6.5 comes with NTFS-3G already installed and configured, it should work out of the box (NTFS partition has to be in clean status -- turned off correctly not forced)
