iPod with amaroKHello all, Has anyone observed that MEPIS 6.0 mounts a cute little ipod on your desktop when you connect said device...but won't let you transfer files to it? I am having this difficulty, and I have no idea how to fix it... amaroK reports that it could not write to /media/ipod - read only filesystem. I'm sad. »

I haven't seen Amarok work with the ipod but my 20yr old
daughter has grown up on linux only(no windows allowed in the house) and just recently got a video ipod and complained to me.
I installed Mepis 6.0 the latest full release and
synaptic installed gtkpod and it works beautifully
she say's it does things that itunes on windows won't do
I don't know the difference..but I see her wearing it out
Try gtkpod and possibly under Mepis 6.0

Turns out, when reformatted by Windows...it works!
If anyone has a problem using the ipod with amaroK under MEPIS 6.0 :
Reformatt (restore) with a Windows PC, then try it.
