More Issues
It seems that the NVIDIA drivers are loading and running as far as I can see in the log files.
But, whenever I try to run any media through Kaffeine or amarok it crashes. Kaffeine Says error 11 (SIGSRV) or something stating that there is a bug in the program. It wont even play an MP3 without crashing. I totally uninstalled it and reinstalled it. No dice. Same thing. I cant seem to find anything in the log files that would point toward what is crashing Kaffeine.
Now amarok is different. It loads and finds all my music files, but when I hit play on any of them, it simply dissapears. POOF. No error messages, nothing. It just flat out dissapears. No matter what file I try to play, it wont do it. Im guessing its part of the same issue.
Next issue is that I cant seem to make my desktop any bigger than 1024x768. I know this monitor can handle it, I used to run things in way bigger modes. but the highest option I get is 1024x768.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Balls Capone

libmad0
there's another post on the forum which advises that you need to upgrade libmad0.
one poster suggests upgrading everything, but i'd try the single library first.

What resolutions do you want and what kind of monitor? Usually pressing F3 at grub splash and adding the resolution thats needed at the end of the grub string will work . If so then reinstall x config with Mepis utilities to make permanent. Or edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file directly as i usually do. Just google resolution on this site, theres bound to be a method to fit your needs and step by step pointers.
