Hard Disk Install *disaster* . . . ?
Dear Forum,
My first use with Mepis appears to be a disaster -- at least in part. Unless I can get a solution to the problem on the forum here. Here is what happened. I was looking at SimplyMepis CD, and as I was going through it, virtually configuring it, I also did so, to partition a hard disk -- UNFORTUNATELY -- I accidently had it format a partition with critical data on it. In other words, I need to know how to unformat.
Can someone be kind enough to explain this procedure? Otherwise I have lost incredible amounts of critical data.
Michelle

Hello,
I suggest you use EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard to recover files.
Download demo version: http://www.easeus.com/download.htm
You can use "AdvancedRecovery" to scan your corrupted drive. After the scan is complete, the lost file will be displayed in Data Recovery Wizard, you can select them and recover them.
NOTICE: never install in on the harddisk you want to recover.
Hi, I have had the same

Hi,
I have had the same problem once with winxp. I used ontrack easy recovery (here is the test-version of ontrack easy recovery pro, also in English: http://www.ontrack.de/kostenlosesoftware/). The condition in order to recover your data is, that you have to have a version of windows always installed on one of your partition. If not, you have to install one. You can then install ontrack on the windows partition and look for your data and recover them on the other partition. I had a very positive experience with this soft., which enables me to recover more than 90% of my data.
Good luck!

This tool claims to be able to recover data from formatted drives . I have never used it but it sounds promising for windows . Its a 4.7 meg download and executed from desktop. Youre in a tough spot there so im thinking you'll just have to trym it.
