boot time dmraid and ntfs-3g
I've been using mepis 6 for 2-3 weeks already. Very nice.
Bside the things that work out of the box I had to configure manually 2 things:
1 - the latest version of DMRAID
cause the one included has a bug rejecting volumes with size other than a multiple of block size (or something)
2 - NTFS-3G which requires a newer FUSE
cause I need access to my other partitions
I would very much like to see these things included in the distro.
I would also like to see the very good XnViewer available to the package manager.
This one I was unable to install. The missing dependencies chain was too long.
Otherwise, this is truly the best distro I used.
Including Suse.

How much trouble is it to
How much trouble is it to get NTFS-3G working in SimplyMEPIS, and could you give some steps that a newbie like me could understand?
Also, one thing that I'm running into from time to time with SimplyMEPIS 6.0 is that Konquerer "stalls" when reading from my NTFS partition. I never saw this issue with earlier versions of SimplyMEPIS.
It actually reports "stalled" and stops reading for some reason. It's usually when I've got a lot of things going on at the same time (for example, downloading files via Firefox while trying to read image files from an NTFS partition).
Would NTFS-3G help this problem, too, even if I were only reading from an NTFS partition?
I've got a 3Ghz P4 with HT, 800mhz FSB, 1GB RAM and a 2GB Swap file for SimplyMEPIS now, reading from an NTFS partition on a relatively fast 7200rpm SATA drive, directly attahced to a motherboard using an Intel 875P Chipset. Yet, Konquerer stills "stalls" reading from it from time to time.
