How to disable automount?

What mecanism does Mepis 6.0 use to automount things? I have put dedicated entries in fstab in the hope of preventing this (with noauto option) but to no avail: everytime I plug an usb stick it gets automounted (ok, it gets mounted where I want but I still don't want it done automatically).
I used to be able to change this by renaming autofs.ko but this time it does not work.

This should work

From Warren himself at http://www.mepislovers.com/forums/index.php?topic=1271.0 :

"Eliminate the automatic mounting of pluggable media. Until kde and
dbus-udev-hal work better together, that seems to be the only safe thing to
do. To change this now, delete the file ~/.kde/share/config/medianotifierrc Don't try to fix it with the kde settings utility for Storage Media, that doesn't work quite right."

Hope this helps.

Thanks. KDE re-creates the file but this time it seems to accept the "do nothing for this type of media" setting.
