What's That Logo On Your Avatar?

Yesterday Matt and Erin urged that I adopt an avatar to associate with my posts. The problem was, what would uniquely represent me? I looked at a lot of pre-designed avatars on the web and nothing really fit.

So I adapted a common tux avatar. For those of you who are not familiar with it, that's a NeXT logo. Once upon a time, I was privileged to be a NeXT developer. I loved the work I did in those days. Whether associates or competitors, we were like a family—a merry band of visionaries trying to create the future. Those were good times.

Recently, I began helping a couple of ex-NeXTie friends who have a Mac software company. It's fun to work again with the NeXT/OSX development tools. And this gives me an opportunity to further integrate the Mac and MEPIS environments. I think more good times are on the way...

Mac and MEPIS environments.

I'm hoping this means we are a step forward towards MEPIS PPC and "I'm proud to say that I am a member of the MEPIS family". Smiling

Jimmy

Thinker

I like to think I am thinker, so I got a picture of Rodin's statue, The Thinker, off the web and resized it to avatar size. My friends and assocaites would probably dispute that this represents me, but there it is.

Sorry if you already have the Enlightment/Mac-look...

Hello Warren,

I bragged that there was a Linux LiveCD with a Mac-look and have been trying to download Elive, since I don't know of any other, but I can't seem to get a good ISO burned. I know the author needs donations, but he could issue a trial version or something. So I was wondering if you'd think about a Mac/Next-look Mepis with the icons that enlarge when you pass over them with the mouse?

Thanks,
ChiJoan
