Does SimplyMepis 6.0 support AM2 socket Asus M2NPV-MX motherboard?

1. I have tried SimplyMepis earlier and I liked it very much.

2. Recently I downloaded SimplyMepis 6.0 and I am ready to test.

3. I have a PC which has AM2 Socket Asus M2NPV-MX motherboard with on-board video (nvidia 6150), audio (SoundMax) and other add-ons (nforce 430). I have put AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and I am running Windows XP SP2 without any problem.

4. Can someone guide me whether SimplyMepis will recognise this motherboard? When I tried live-cd, I did not get sound in that machine. I also could not make much out of "lspci" command.

5. If it does not recognise this board, what is the next step to make it work?

I have the -VM version of this Asus board. Video and networking work fine. I have 2 Gig DDR2, and 3 SATA drives. Very fast, and stable so far under XP and Mepis 6.0.

Still no sound. See the Sound section of the forums where I have posted.

Been working on it a few days, with a few helps from the forum, but still silent.

I might have to go out and buy a Creative sound card.

Abandon the creeping meatball !

I've got no sound on my ASUS

I've got no sound on my ASUS M2V-MX mobo - it's an AM2 socket - AM64 3000+ w/ Via K8M890

Sounds like ASUS and AMD are the common denominators, but I have sound when I boot to Ubuntu Edgy, so it may be a kernel issue?

I'll have one in a couple of days, will let you know

From memory, everything worked fine but Mepis would not detect the Striped RAID 1 array I tried last time I saw the machine, so at best, all I could do was to run in live cd mode. Didn't have it long enough to test it fully but this time, we're going to a RAID 5 array.
