getting Simply Mepis to recognize my SOHOware ND5120-E PCMCIA network card

Hi all,

I am a total newbie here attempting to escape the evil empire....(on my third day or so...)

I have been playing around with the Live CD version of Simply Mepis 6 before attempting to load it onto an actual machine (a later project).

Question is this:

so far, I have not been able to get Mepis to recognize my PCMCIA network card (working on an old Dell Latitude C series). The card itself is a SOHOware ND5120-E. (Works fine with Windows XP). It appears that Mepis doesn’t even recognize that I have a card in the slot, let alone a network card. I’ve googled around a bit, and near as I can figure, the card is supported by SOME linux distros. No one seems to tell which distros or how to get the card active however...

Any suggestions for what to poke at? (preferably via the GUI....)
