GRUB Selection

I remember on an earlier incantation of SimplyMepis that I had
before I did something to really scramble everything was when
I booted, GRUB would remember which bootdisk to run, ie. Windows
or Linux. When I shut down, it kept that information and when
I started again, it would default to whichever I shut down, but
still give me time to change to the other operating system if I
so choose. If I shut down in windows, it would have that as the
default. If I shut down in Linux, that would be the default.
Is this still an option in GRUB? If so, how?

I know this is not what you

I know this is not what you asked for, but I have 5 different OS's on my computer and I like to choose which one I want to boot, so I put # in front of the timeout and it won't timeout. "# timeout 15" Now I can start my computer and go back to bed if I want, come back and still choose what OS I want to run.

Jimmy
