NX-Nomachine

I am interested in trying out NX in order to connect my laptop to my home computer. I am often on the run and if I would like to maintain all my documents and application on my home computer. If I understad correctly if I use this system there will be no need for "syncking"?

I do find something in the wiki but it states in bold "Attention! This info is probably obsolete"

Do anyone have available a howto on NX? Installation of client+server and how to set it up and use it? If I understand it correctly the NX nomachine is now free both for the server+client?

Experienced NX-users: Any comment on this piece of software?
