KDE fonts in Firefox/Thunderbird

GTK apps like Firefox, Thunderbird, Gaim, GIMP etc. can use the same styles and fonts as other KDE applications if gtk2-engines-gtk-qt is installed. However, SimplyMEPIS 6.0 doesnt seem to show up "GTK Styles and Fonts" control in System Settings menu. Deleting $HOME/.local/share/applications/kcmgtk-xdg.desktop restores "GTK Styles and Fonts" in System Settings->Appearance & Themes menu.

See http://www.mepis.org/node/10921#comment-41171 for details.

Hope this helps .. arbus

Thanks for the tip

Ah - thank you! That's really helpful. Although the GTK menu option appeared in my Settings when I removed ~/.local/share/applications/kcmgtk-xdg.desktop, when I clicked on it nothing got loaded. However, running: kcmshell kcmgtk-xdg
did let me set the GTK fonts to my KDE defaults and Synaptic, Firefox, etc look much better now. Smiling
