Bravo! SimplyMEPIS is to be congratulated on coming out with a solid distro, with good choices on the apps and utilities that are included, and a well thought-out implementation. At this time, it's "a better Kubuntu than Kubuntu," imo.
Well.. thank you! That's pretty much our opinion too.
Notice that Mepis is not KDE fanatic at application level as Kubuntu, it has the best of the class even if that comes from GNOME world (GAIM and Synaptic for instance)

Very impressive. Those involved in the creation of Simply Mepis must be proud. Congratulations, too, to the runner's up.

Thanks Texstar:
PCLinux is also well appreciated by Mepis users. I installed it on a friends old computer when l couldn't get Mepis to work on it and they loved it. I have it installed on one of my partitions too!

Quote from the reviewer:
"I had never experienced a debian-based distro until now. Yet, that didn't keep me from rating debian-derived SimplyMEPIS, Xandros, and Kubuntu very highly. I've certainly begun to see the advantages of the apt-get approach to avoiding "dependency hell," while remaining independent of any particular vendor's subscription-based updates, and not being held hostage to a specific vendor's selected set of apps".
Amen to that....
