Using Synaptic

samuelmp, to uninstall packages from synapic, you have to be user root, just like during installation. Go into synaptic and do your search for "gnome" again and right-click on the package name. You will be given the option to "remove" or "completely remove". The difference in the two is that remvoe will remove the packages, but leave various configuration files and directories. "completely remove" will attempt to get rid of ALL of the "gnomey parts".

Be careful though! When you initially installed Gnome, did you also get a message that "additional packages" were being installed? You may or may not want to remove them. I would strongly suggest backing up your system before yo do this particular "undo" Smiling
