DNS - Web Page - Wrong location

Ok, this is somewhat of a technical question, but I know there is an easy answer.

Problem, - I recently changed web hosting companies. I changed my DNS (Domain Name Servers) more than 48 hours ago. So all changes should be final. However when I go to my web site - www.rices2peru.com It brings it up on the old server most of the time. I use Firefox browser, I have cleared the cache, cookies, history etc trying to fix it. I have refreshed many times. I have tried Konqueror (which I never use as a browser). I ping my site and get this:
ping -vc 4 www.rices2peru.com
PING rices2peru.com (64.34.165.51): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 64.34.165.51: icmp_seq=0 ttl=49 time=180.7 ms
64 bytes from 64.34.165.51: icmp_seq=1 ttl=49 time=123.3 ms
64 bytes from 64.34.165.51: icmp_seq=2 ttl=49 time=124.1 ms
64 bytes from 64.34.165.51: icmp_seq=3 ttl=49 time=124.5 ms

--- rices2peru.com ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 123.3/138.1/180.7 ms
Then I re-ping and get this:
ping -vc 4 www.rices2peru.com
PING rices2peru.com (204.14.95.106): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 204.14.95.106: icmp_seq=0 ttl=50 time=257.2 ms
64 bytes from 204.14.95.106: icmp_seq=1 ttl=50 time=191.9 ms
64 bytes from 204.14.95.106: icmp_seq=3 ttl=50 time=164.4 ms

--- rices2peru.com ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 25% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 164.4/204.5/257.2 ms
Notice the IP's are different, meaning the host is different. I have noticed that my wifes computer (XP) doesn't seem to have this problem. Is there a way to clear the my computer of its DNS? Does it keep that stuff in memory and try to route to the old address because it is in my computer? I tried rebooting too. I do live in South America, can it take longer for the DNS to finish resolving? Help. Thanks.

Shane, the usual mention

Shane, the usual mention from hosting providers is 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate, but that is normally a figure that's valid in the USA.

I've had it take up to 9 days for changes to propagate globally, in some instances, so I don't think that you're allowing enough time, given where you live.

Am I correct in assuming that your switch of hosting companies involved USA-based firms?

"You have two labs?"
"Each has its place. At the university, I try to please the Federal Government. Here, I negotiate with God."

Yes, it is a USA based host,

Yes, it is a USA based host, actually both. But that is wierd that on two XP machines (here in Peru) it comes up correctly. I guess I will just have to wait it out. Thanks!

Yeah. It looks like you

Yeah.

It looks like you went from Server Beach to Fluid Hosting. You're in NS23.ULTRAWHB.COM; which is 204.14.95.106, as resolved from Southern California.

If you were to change (temporarily) your system DNS to Verizon (4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3) I'd wager that you'll come up with what you're looking for.

Are there any differences in your gateway and resolution IPs, or how they're obtained when the interface is brought up (between your wife's machine and yours, that is)?

I'm not sure I understand that.

We are connected through the same router, so I believe the gateway resolution is the same. Our ip's are different. I think it is an international thing, where we have to wait a little longer. I have noticed it is starting to get a little better. I can actually go to my web site now and it actually comes up many times. Thanks.
