Install Gnome?

Does anyone know how to install Gnome? I haven't done it on MEPIS before. In SuSE Linux there is an install option to have Gnome. If anyone has undergone a successful install of Gnome then please let me know!

The reason why I am asking is becuase my german friend would rather use Gnome than KDE and would like to know how to install it before using MEPIS.

Is it as simple as opening synaptic, installing the packages, restarting, and then choosing the type of session at the login?

Please reply ASAP.
SAM

Yes Sam, it is that easy

Yes Sam, it is that easy while using Synaptic, just tick the box for "Gnome" it is a "Meta Package" and will install all needed packages, it will also install "GDM" the "Gnome Desktop Manager" and while doing the install Synaptic will ask if you want to use "KDM" or "GDM", you can't use both, I like the "KDE Desktop Manager" better, so after ticking the box to install "Gome" I would un-tick the box for "GDM" and install every thing else, but it really don't matter both can be installed. Tell him to use a root of at least 5GB so he will have plenty of room for his files.
