Repositories

Have you tried to remove the Berkely-repo from your Repositories-list and reload the list?

Pokey Repositories

Yes, a number of the "main" Debian repositories are running slowly lately. There have been lots of updates/additions/fixes in the Debian world at the moment.

Please check this post:

where I give some instructions on setting up a different repository. Hope it helps.

Boinc seti

Hi
Just to let you know that I use Boinc for World Community Grid, like Seti@home. Both these and many more projects run on Boinc. I downloaded Boinc gui and cli from the standard repositories and then using all my previous account keys and the like was up and running in about five minutes.

Synaptic will install both of them perfectly without the need to use another repository to the ones already on your p.c.

It places it in Kmenu / utilities / Boinc monitor and control utility ( Boinc Manager )

Also if you do Kmenu / system configuration ( settings ) then in the window that comes up select kde components then session manager and then in the window that comes up check the box in the On Login part for restore previous session and then apply. When you start Boinc just leave it running and when you shutdown Mepis will stop the Boinc client and restart it for you after about 15 seconds when you start a new session ( restart your p.c. next time ).

I never turn Boinc off Kde just keeps starting it right back up for me Smiling

Hope this help ya
Cheers
Jacko

Edit p.s. if you have a pentium 4 cpu with hyperthreading use Boinc as it will recognise upto 4 cpus or threads, but you will need to install the latest Mepis kernel 2.6.15-27-686 to use hyperthreading. If you want to install this kernel ask in the forum as it's just took me ages to get it to work cos of an error with the i8042 module and bios handover to kernel with usb handoff ( LMAO I solved it on my own HEHE )
