simplymepis 6.0 won't see my usb ports
Posts: 21
I downloaded simplymepis6.0 and upgraded from 2003.10.02, which I got when it was new, yesterday. None of my USB devices work. At onetime to the palm software to work I had th chmod /dev/ttyUSB but fond out /dev/ttyUSB* is gone. How do I fix this? I would think that I would link /dev/USB* to whatever the device is called in it's current form.
HEY! Isn't that neat? I figured it out all on my own. (I kind of suspected as much when I tried to link USB* to jpilot and it said file not found)
Here is what I know how to do:

...and, for fullest information flavor, run
lsusb -v
after 'su'-ing to root.

What is your hardware specs and what are you trying to plug in? All i can tell you st this point is you have a usb hub ver 1.1. It all seems pretty mutch standard to my listings but a lot of things have changed since your version of Mepis. Have you tried plugging in something while booted into Mepis? More info is in order and you might run lsmod & post it.
