I have just done a new install of simply mepis 6 and I like what I see, but I have a couple of minor problems.
1) the screen saver on KDE does not start, have double checked the setting, changed the chosen screen saver, tested the screen saver and it works, leave the PC alone and it will not start any suggestions??
2) The monitor I am using is an acer AC713 which I have setup but the screen but the screen is shaking slightly. I have checked the xorg.conf file to see if it has the correct vert and horz refresh rates and it has, but in KDE it only offers me 70hz at 1024 x 768, how can I get a range of refresh rates so I can adjust the refresh?

Thanks Yamal, I applied the patch and it worked straightaway, not sure what it was with the monior though as mepis was showing the correct monitor but went through the motion again and this time it has worked and set the monior to 76hz

1.It is a bug.
There are a couple of work arounds.

2.Mepis does not recognize your monitor.
Open console;
su
mutilities
# Click Mouse and Display.
# Click the Monitor tab.
# Input the information about your monitor
# Restart X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.
You might need to edit /etc/Xorg/xorg.conf as well by removing all the modlines from the monitor section(where you will see the specs you have just put in mutilities).
