ttyUSB

In my previous version of mepis to get my palm to work I had to enter the string:
chmod 666 /dev/ttyUSB*
ln -sf /dev/ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot
Unfortunately, they changed the name of /dev/tty1 . Would someone be good enough to tell me the new name..... or is there something else I need to do to get my palm to sync.

When you plug it in, does it show up in Konqueror if you browse to media:/ ?
If so, if you right-click on the icon and select Properties, that might tell you the device name.
it's strange

The only things in /media are floppy and dvd. I can't get my PDA, camera, memory card, or the thumb drive to show up there. I can make the camera show with gtkam and I just mount the thumb to sdb1. The PDA is perplexing though. As stated previously I had to manipulate ttyUSB? but those files are now gone and I'm hoping that just entering the new name in place of the ttyUSB? will work.
The memory card reader isn't really needed at the moment but it would be nice to get it working now rather than needing it and THEN having to get it to work.
Any suggestions?
edit:
I found where the tty is kept. it is still in /dev and it is probably ttyu? but I am unsure and I don't want to mess up my system. After further investigation I see that there is no /dev/pilot to link to /dev/ttyu? .
further edit:
I tried mounting a few of the devices to try to read the contents of the card reader but that was a no-go.
