cdrw and cdrom will not mount

Just installed MEPIS 6.0 and my cdrw and cdrom will not mount.
cdrw is hdc
cdrom is hdd

My floppy would not either so I made changes to the fstab file and floppy was fixed but cdrw and cdrom still dead!

Here is my fstab file after editing:

# Pluggable devices are handled by uDev, they are not in fstab
/dev/hdb1 / ext3 defaults,noatime 1 1
/dev/hdb2 swap swap sw,pri=1 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /proc/bus/usb usbfs devmode=0666 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0622 0 0
none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb3 /home ext3 defaults,noatime 1 2
# Dynamic entries below, identified by 'users' option
/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 vfat,ext3,ext2,reiserfs noauto,users,exec 0 0
# /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom iso9660,udf noauto,users,exec,ro 0 0
# /dev/fd0 /media/floppy vfat,ext2 noauto,users,exec,rw 0 0
/dev/cdrw /media/cdrw auto rw,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto rw,noauto,user,sync 0 0

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
FXEF

--More--

Please, need MEPIS guru help or I'll have to scrap MEPIS for a more stable distro. I have previously run MEPIS 3.3.1 on another box with no issues. MEPIS 6.0 is a dog omn this box, no sound, no CD drives.

Thanks,
FXEF
