Windows partition

Well, it finally happened, my windows refuses to boot up but I can probably fix that w/o any problems.
As a former SUSE user of 9.0, I know I can do this. I have a single disk drive that I have made two partitions upon. One for windows and one for the real world of Linux. When I was playing around with SUSE 9.0, I know I could 'read' my windows drive (i.e. say play an mp3 file) but never write to it. That's cool. I do not see that possibility within Mepis, is it? and if so, how easy is it to do?
TIA,
Dave
