HP Wireless doesnt work DV1000

Hey,
I have a HP DV1000 entertainment notebook PC and I am using Mepis 6.0, the only problem i've had with mepis is i can't get my built-in wireless to work. It is a Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. I have the wireless override butoon on the laptop, where i can turn the wireless adaptor on and off automatically, but when mepis is running, the light blinks quick every now and then, i think mepis is overriding it. I need to know how to get this thing to work! If you need any more info, let me know. I dont want windows!
