I have been having trouble with the dwlg650 airplus extreme wireless card on my toshiba satellite and i am using Mepis 2.6.7. I would like a step by step on how to make the wireless card work? Some help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you please explain the 2.6.7?

I'm not too sure what you mean by 2.6.7. It appears to relate to a kernel, but the standard Mepis kernel is 2.6.15-26.386
About your wireless card, you can see if it's been correctly detected by opening mepis utilities and checking the Network Interfaces submenu. If you can see something like wireless on: ath0, wireless on:wlan0 or wireless on eth1, then your wireless card has been detected and it is working, but it needs some details entered before it will complete the connection.
You can open mepis Utilities by typing mutilities into the K Menu > Run Command dialogue box, then clicking the Run button, enter your root password.
If you can see your card has been detected, click the wifi tab and enter the SSID of your access point, and type in your encryption key if you have one and click the Apply button. You'll probably have to change the ASCII option to Hex if you use WEP and if you use WPA, you will probably need further assistance, but sufficient for now is to see if your hardware has been detected first.
NB, if your card is on ath0, you may need to open the ath0 tab and set the device to start at boot, and visa-versa for any interface it is configured as.
