We Love MEPIS too

WE LOVE MEPIS too,
I installed Mepis 3.4-2.rc1 the day after Christmas last year (2005) and have followed almost every update since. It has freed us from the evils of the Internet, keeping us safe from the unscrupulous.
I got a little nervous when Warren switched from Debian to Ubuntu, but that has proved to be wise decision. MEPIS 6.0, really is a rock solid distro that has served us well.
The inclusion of VMware Player into the repositories was a sheer stroke of genius, ("it's the future") making logging in and out of the XP guest (necessary for some work related websites) so much easier than a reboot.
Our kids love MEPIS too, so much so, that they asked me to install it onto their computer, "It's easier to use" and they like the fishes (kaquarium is an endearing signature for them).
I have to admit that I've been a bit of a Linux whore and have tried over a dozen other distros, always looking for the next best thing, through it all Mepis has been the our primary operating system and I don't see that changing in the near future.
Thank You Mr. Warren Woodford and all involved, for your hard work, we want you to know that it's appreciated.
Happy Holidays.

Well said.
I started with the 3.4.3 version and did a fresh install when 6.0 came out. Since then I have applied every upgrade except the ATI video upgrades, which I pinned at its Radeon 9600 version.
Fast, stable and secure, and works with every peripheral I've thrown at it. I recently bought a Sony VRD-CD20 standalone DVD/CD burner. It plugs in via the USB port and works like a dream! I can plug my video camera into it a pass the video right to my harddrive. Sweet!
Merry Christmas, one and all!
