losing passwords

Hi all
I am using mepis 6.0 and Firefox frequently asks for my password when accessing my Hotmail account even though I mark Mepis to remember my log-on details. My password cannot be seen in the list of saved passwords nor is it in the "never remember" list. The request for my password sometimes does not occur for a few days and at other times I will be asked for it every time I check my mail.
Is there any way I can manually enter the information in my list of "saved" passwords?

I have that problem with some sites.
Firefox probably depends on certain form field names being used for logins, and Hotmail might not use those names.
You could try using the Firefox feature for saving form data, as well as passwords.
Disclaimer: both of these features are somewhat of a security risk.
