Switching user since install 3D driver for Saphire Radeon9600se

Hi,
the installation (or activaion) of 3D support in the Mepis setting runs well without errors. 3D runs well and fast (for example I can play Savage or homeworld)
The only problem i have (i think since I activate it) I cant switch between 2 or more different users, even from textmode to graphical mode wont work. Each time same happens: the monitor is getting black like the PC is of and the PC don't react on any Key prints (even from powerbutton) Only way then, is to reset or hold powerbutton until power goes down (not an correct shutdown).
Some one nows what to do?

Bob, I don't think it has to do with your 3D drivers. I'm running on a Dell laptop and a similar thing happens. I think it has to do with something in the kdm desktop (login) manager. I have not found a solution to this yet. But try this. Choose the option to switch user. Does it black out and then come back to a locked screen? If so, just press ctrl+alt+f8 (that's the next gui session). You should see the normal login screen.
What appears to happen is that the first time that you choose "switch user" that kdm "hiccups" and takes you to the previous screen. If you are trying to get to a text login, do it a second time and you should see the login screen then.
