installation of usb adapter (modified)

Hi all
I have the loan of an EDIMAX wireless lan usb adapter EW-7318UG. Could someone please give me an idiots guide to installing it?. I am looking to get rid of the tv sender.

I am trying to follow Ralink's instructions but have fallen at the hurdle.

root@3[Module]# make all
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.15-26-386/build SUBDIRS=/home/george/Documents/downloads/RT73_Linux_STA_Drv1.0.3.6/Module modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.15-26-386/build: Not a directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2

/lib/------/build exists

Any help would be appreciated

I have managed to follow the instuctions until

dmesg produces

[17180916.132000] idVendor = 0x148f, idProduct = 0x2573
[17180916.324000] rausb0 (WE) : Driver using old /proc/net/wireless support, please fix driver !

I think I have found a patch for the driver but even after reading many articles ( incl man patch), I do not have any idea how to apply it
