Problem setting locales for MEPIS 6.0

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum (and linux), and worked a little with MEPIS 3.4-3 before I installed MEPIS 6 recently. This really is a great distribution!
I'm having trouble setting my locales to hebrew. I have no problem changing the keyboard layout and I have all the fonts I need. on the last version I used "dpkg-reconfigure locales" to choose the correct ones as default (it would open up a manual setup of a sort) and adding "export LANG="he_IL.UTF-8"" and "export LC_ALL="he_IL.UTF-8"" to /etc/profile. But now when I run the dpkg-reconfigure command all I see is just a list of locals, no matter what arguments I use. What changed since the last version?
Any help would be much apreciated. Smiling

I think this page will help you. Remember Mepis does not use sudo or Gnome (we use KDE desktop rather than Gnome)

success. Had to apt-get language-pack-he and language-pack-he-base for hebrew locales, they weren't installed before so I could not use them. but that still doesn't explain why dpkg-reconfigure didn't work as before... well, thanx for the manual again, it helped me a lot.
