Just an update...
those 64 bit drivers work fine, happy to say!
laptop sees all wireless networks.
Tried to connect to my home hub with knetworkmanager but didnt work and i cant seem to edit the log in details... any help would that would be appreciated!
Also, not sure this is the right place for this feedback but kmplayer and mplayer stop playing steaming media (ie radio) after about 10 mins saying "mplayer stopped"
Whats that about?
Thanks
Mark
Mepis Utilities

Mepis utilities or the console work much better than KNetworkmanager -- you can access Mepis Utilities from the "K" icon at lower left under Mepis Network.
Enter details of your setup at wireless and wlan0, click "Start at Boot" Apply and OK at each tab.

wireless works on start up using Mepis Utilites! Brilliant!!!
Even got my radio working properly by using the mplayer plugin
for firefox.
This is a really nice package, for a beta it is outstanding!!
Right gonna try and get DVD playback sorted now...
Thanks for the help, very much appreciated

blimey that was easy,
added repository and used synaptic to install libdvdcss2 and now kmplayer works with dvds! fabulous!!! Mplayer weirdly enough doesnt work, it just producing a blue screen and then defaults to the splash screen....
No matter can still watch bond movies...

Need 64-bit driver for 64-bit install
Remove the 32-bit driver with
ndiswrapper -e bcmwl5 (or whatever it's called)
and use this one
http://ubuntuforums.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=186
supposedly works (requires ubuntu login ID) -- there are probably other places to get the driver
