wireless problems

Hi,
i have a compaq r4000 laptop with a broadcom wireless card. I have blacklisted bcm43xx driver and installed the bcmwl5 driver with ndiswrapper. This works on the 32 bit version of Mepis but not this 64 bit version... so far... any ideas, please,
Mark

Need 64-bit driver for 64-bit install

Need 64-bit driver for 64-bit install

Remove the 32-bit driver with
ndiswrapper -e bcmwl5 (or whatever it's called)

and use this one

supposedly works (requires ubuntu login ID) -- there are probably other places to get the driver

those 64 bit drivers work fine, happy to say!
laptop sees all wireless networks.
Tried to connect to my home hub with knetworkmanager but didnt work and i cant seem to edit the log in details... any help would that would be appreciated!
Also, not sure this is the right place for this feedback but kmplayer and mplayer stop playing steaming media (ie radio) after about 10 mins saying "mplayer stopped"
Whats that about?

Thanks

Mark

Mepis Utilities

Mepis utilities or the console work much better than KNetworkmanager -- you can access Mepis Utilities from the "K" icon at lower left under Mepis Network.

Enter details of your setup at wireless and wlan0, click "Start at Boot" Apply and OK at each tab.
