Samba

I set up Samba months ago when I first installed and begin using Mepis. Since I fixed my suspend to disk problem (see other thread) I have lost Samba. Boo! I rebooted and still not Samba. I can see my workgroup but cannot see any of the machines in it. This is particuarly troubling since I print via a pc in my workgroup. It worked fine before. I've tried restarting samba (/etc/ini.d......) and nothing. Any ideas?

Okay, I figured out my problem but I do not know the why. I have been using the my LAN as of lately, whereas up unti now, I have used the wireless connection. Usually, I grap an ip around 192.168.0.1. With the LAN, I take 192.168.0.6. When my machine boots up or resumes, I manually ifdown the ath0 keep working. I have no idea what this has to do with anything, but I unplugged the LAN and rebooted my computer (I tried ifdown and ifup so that I'd be working on the wireless conection - even restarted samba - all without avail. I had internet access but not [local] network -samba - access). When the machine rebooted, I connected to my samba shares no problems. What happened?
